CROZON PENINSULA and LOVELY LOCRONAN

Description

Departure is from your port of call with your driver and an English speaking guide to Crozon by expressway.

A world of greenery, sea and light exists at the head of Brittany.
First, you will follow the meanders of the river "l’Aulne" to discover the ship canal and its locks.
Just by turning your head you will start to discover the beauty of the peninsula and magnificent views.
Through the wild moors, a luxurious vegetation of heathers and brooms. Moreover, the visit of capes will let you some unforgettable souvenirs, with views on the roadstead of Brest in the North and on the "Pointe du raz" in the South.
Then, make a stop in Camaret-sur-Mer to Vauban Tower built at the seawall’s extreme end by the engineer Vauban. Work began in 1689 and wasn’t finished until 1696. To build it, rocks had to be removed and the seawall made suitable for coach passage. The stones used came from Northern Finistère (granite) and the port itself (they are brittle and have a slightly blue tint) to see this typical port and then onto the standing stones of "Lagatjar". Thanks to the sandy beach, the harbor and the nautical center, Crozon is a pleasant place to have a lunch and to savor oysters, shellfishes or fishes.

The last part of your trip will take you to Locronan, because this town is a must.
There, you will find houses, which have been built between the 17th and the 18th centuries, by rich traders and officers of the King.
By strolling through the small streets of the town, you will discover some treasures of architecture.
